Featured Developments January-07: IYB announces the expansion of its surveyor network to include Fort Lauderdale, Newport, St. Maarten, San Diego, Seattle, Southern France, Mallorca, Mexico, Trinidad, Canada, and Turkey.
December-06: The beautiful sailing yacht Quickstar (ex-Rivolta 90) designed by Rivolta Yachts commences her initial surveys for commercial service. A major refit is being completed in Sarasota, Florida with attendance by surveyors from the IYB Fort Lauderdale office. In addition, the popular sailing yacht, Tu Enamorado, located in La Paz, Mexico commenced her initial surveys for certification as a commercial yacht.
November-06: The sailing yacht Axia (ex-Nazenin IV) is certified for service by IYB's survey office in Marmaris, Turkey. She immediately proceeded to Malta for a major refit and will be brought up to commercial standards through the oversight of IYB's surveyors in Turkey and Mallorca, with plan approval assistance from the Fort Lauderdale office.
October-06: The famous sailing yacht Hyperion enters the service of IYB for her commercial certification. She will be issued Load Line, MARPOL, and flag-specific certificates by the Fort Lauderdale office.
September-06: The 115' Benetti Classic, Blind Date, has commenced her initial surveys for commercial certification. She will be dual certified by IYB and Bureau Veritas.
August-06: IYB announces the arrival of the yacht Arm's Reach into the register. This popular Westport-built fishing expedition yacht recently commenced her initial surveys for commercial operations. She will be issued Load Line, MARPOL, and flag-specific certificates by the Fort Lauderdale office.
July-06:
IYB welcomes the megayacht Newvida (ex-Gallant Lady) into the
register. This famous 160-foot, 750 gross ton private yacht recently
completed her initial surveys for the Republic of the Marshall Islands by
staff at IYB's Survey Station Fort Lauderdale. July-06: IYB provides statutory certification for private yachts of any size and commercial yachts up to 500 gross tons. This includes the provision of Load Line, MARPOL, Cargo Ship Safety Radio, and the Safety Codes of Practice for Large and Small Yachts.
